14 short poems of Welkin Siskin.

Welkin Siskin lives in Seattle, Washington. He is the poet of varied nature, who writes on various themes. Poetry for him is the healing ointment of a heart destitute of vision.

He believes that poetry is the play of words, the change of verbs into nouns; the game of words surging through the heart's inside.
His poetry is the yearning for freedom, love, life, and the expression of the Nature that adorns the Universe- the mysterious eternity of the Infinite.

1.The Unexperienced
The wind gradually
swings into me
with a voice unheard,
though seemingly
It feels to me familiar.
Here I wonder
In the abstract, the indistinct,
The shade-less silence
And the apparent shadow;
And in between the hoarsest
And the shrillest of tones
flitting within me
through the brink of
unknown lips.

2. Poetry (II)
When poetry does make a good theme,
It does make a good hymn,
And spread its message good
That comes out of truth.
When theme comes out
From the depth of source
It drives one with in-depth force
To get the theme to not
Just a people but the universe.

3. Love
Love is more of art
Handle it with artisticity.
Love is more of passion
Care it with stark heart.
Love is more of heart’s longing
For a free rein,
Do not let it go unheeded.
Love is life
Play its lute prudently, dexterously.

4. Beauty and Truth
Truth like splendor of light
Is beauty that’s true to all core,
That bestows you a delight
That truth is true everywhere:
Below the surface or at the highest point you soar.
For when beauty is fully sensed
What could be a better dish,
For Beauty is Truth’s companion and Truth Beauty’s.
What’s Truth if not beauty
And what could it be
If not to gauge beauty.
Beauty is Truth, Truth beauty.

5. A Journey (II)
On the graceful journey of coolness,
With peace of mind, body and soul
Shall all the difference make
To counter all that’s fake
To win over the dark aisle, to revive
the lost hope of life.

6. When Love Blossoms
When love blossoms
And the furthest it spirals
To the zone beyond our defining,
It’s a full-grown love, fully developed one.

7. Shadows
Shadows barefoot tread on me
What can this be
If not an omen of dread
Or frightful threat?
Life entangles in a tapestry
Or a maze
That nothing can it now fetch
To weave this frail, thin thread
Of dreams.

8. A Child’s Outcry
Do not spare me from going
To the road I take
I’m a child and many a mistakes I make
To reach the goals targeted
For we shall go and yet
To the place travelled and not.
There are many ways;
let me travel the pathways of life.
Spare my heart from depressing outcome,
For the journey of life is precarious.

9. Nature and Poet
The night hymn spills
from these throats,
And the winds of passion
Swell across the yard.
The soul walks through the void
Warily, and the heart distances
To uncover potential of a pen
Unleashing the strength of a writer.

10. Idleness
At a time when nothing worked,
In a boulder
I dug a pit hole
To garner drops of life.

11. Math
The bell rings and the math class goes
And now I begin to drowse.
The teacher comes and yells at me
Now I inspirit and fresh I be.
One, two, three, four and the numbers go,
I’m happy for the math so.
I count sticks, I count toys,
I count papers and all the joys.
The teacher gives me headache
But I with him my hands shake.
He teaches me easier way to do math and counting,
With various formulas and links.
And now I feel math is a game
Which I can play without a shame.

12. Honesty
Sure as things do our actions matter
Perseverance, diligence and honesty
Are three things, apart from many
To get as far as our roads of life.
Honesty if be our action,
Honesty if truly lies at the heart
Of doings,
If truest we stand, we perceive and endure, shall we reach our goals.
Honesty is the best principle of actions to reach our dreams.
In our life do we like in dreams scream
And does this emotion take our course
With the potent of negative thoughts.
To reach our destination should we
Like a falling rain of summer be honest,
Should we like the arc of waves be honest
To evidence its beauty to the shore.
We must shun negative forces and emotions
To reach the goal
For to reach the goals,
as the saying goes honesty is the best action

13. Integrity
In childhood does the time go innocently,
And the walks we tread on are led
With no fault countable but with mischief.
This age does go deficiently,
And so does the Time.
As the age progresses, the society needs your integrity—
in work place, at home and everything you do.
Integrity is a goal of honest work-spirit and diligence.
If you are honest and diligent at work,
Your behavior molds your man to attain integrity.
Integrity is the soul of a great artist
Who can mold the string of his life
To attain a character-filled state.
Integrity is a chorus of a cosmic voice
To usher all living things to create harmony and peace.

14. Make It Happen
Make it befall this love
Fresher and newer
like the love from above.
Make it befall this love
Purer and sublimer
Like the unheard songs of dove.
For if fresher be the love,
For if newer be the love
We would then move forward,
To the diction of the heart.
For if fresher and newer be the love
Then heart, despite all failure, flies like a dove.
