Ajnabee bids goodbye; Dahal comes on board

Yati Raj Ajnabee, the present Chief Editor and one of the longest-serving editors at Bhutaneseliterature.com, has decided to take a break. 

Ajnabee is one of the founding members of Bhutaneseliterature.com which was started in May 2009. Ajnabee joined the first editorial team that was formed in January 2010. Bhutaneseliterature.com decided to transform itself as the publishing platform of the reformed Literature Council of Bhutan (LCOB) in June 2011. Ajnabee continued in the publication team as an Editor. He was then elected to the post of Chief Editor in December 2014. Ajnabee headed the editorial team until he resigned from the post last month. 

“I would not be able to spare enough time required for the post (of Chief Editor) and I don’t feel it’s ethically pragmatic just to keep clinging on to the position,” Ajnabee mentioned in the resignation note. “We, at Literature Council of Bhutan, are highly indebted to the contribution you have made for the betterment of the Council in general and its publication section in particular for a period of more than a decade,” reads the letter of appreciation jointly signed by LCOB’s chairman, Ganga Ram Lamitare and LCOB’s publication coordinator and founding chair of Bhutaneseliterature.com, Ramesh Gautam.

Apart from the regular issues in Bhutaneseliterature.com, the Council published an analogue of Nepali stories,  समकालीन भूटानी नेपाली कथा, under the chief editorship of Ajnabee.  

A vivid enthusiast of letters, Yati Raj Ajnabee has contributed many articles in Bhutaneseliterature.com. 

The meeting of the publication board of LCOB held on 11th August decided to welcome Shiva Lal Dahal in the vacant position. Dahal, who holds an MA in Economics and Sahitya Alankar (equivalent to a bachelor) degree in Nepali literature, has been contributing in the field of literature for a long time. 

Dahal has written आकाश गङ्गामा तरङ्गिएको पानीजहाज (कविता संग्रह, सन् २००४), तुर्सा कविता संग्रह (सन् २०१२), अलबिदा बेलडाँगी (संस्मरणात्मक निबन्ध तथा समालोचना, सन् २०१३) and edited सम्झनाका अखण्डित आकृतिहरु (कविता संकलन,सन् २०१०), मूल्यवोध (संयुक्त सम्पादन, सन् २०१०), समकालीन भूटानी नेपाली कथा (संयुक्त सम्पादन, २०१८).

He has contributed regularly in Bhutaneseliterature.com from the time of its inception. 

Dahal has been appointed to the voluntary position for a period of three years.
