RETURNING FROM PATHIVARA

Kamal
Tsirang-Bhutan

Oh! Stars and clouds and moon,
You are all above me and PATHIVARA*,
Glancing, as if about to mock me.
If you really pity me,
Let me become a carefree man,
If not go, go and leave me in the darkness.
These are the miserable thought of mine,
Where I cannot account how the brilliance of stars pressed on me;
How I beheld at the stoic moon,
And sensed nature agent from so near,
Praised, otherwise, unworthy clouds,
That framed a quick passage to the sphere.
And how I listened
To the tune and rhythm of the favoring wind.
I perceived;
Being engrossed in the expression of your latent sentiments.
And thus, I made a harsh way towards home.
Back at home;
I sat, amused and not disappointed.
I imagined how I traveled,
In the warm moccasins of JOHN KEATS,
And how I realized the divine beauty,
Albeit, a maiden taste.
