We grow: We move

Transitioning is hard in many senses and dimensions. If you just recall the time when Bhutaneseliterature.com emerged in Bhutanese diaspora, you will be amazed to see what the entire community was going through. One can imagine how hard and challenging it is – moving from one part of the globe to another, one kind of cultural origins into another, one system of education to another and from one way of lifestyle to another. Nevertheless, many positive and meaningful things have happened in the Bhutanese community in the post resettlement era. One thing to cherish is the effort made by Bhutaneseliterature.com to create and treasure the writings of our own fellow Bhutanese writers.

Through literature, we express our feelings, senses, thoughts, and convictions. In our writings, one can find our own stories of eviction, nostalgic memories of a lost homeland, the trauma inflicted by migration, separation of families and beloved ones, and debilitating life in refugee camps for more than two decades. They also express anger and rage towards the autocratic regime, contempt towards denial of fundamental freedom and choice, and seek to advocate for rights and justice in the homeland they fled.

As a premier site in Bhutanese diaspora, we honor and value our writers and readers. It is your trust, love, and contribution that has enriched our site, energize us to give our best, and work towards improving the quality of articles we publish.

When we celebrate our achievement, we do reflect on our weaknesses and explore the potential to grow. Bhutaneseliterature.com strives for excellence by publishing quality articles, building a strong relationship with writers and readers and look for the ways to inspire our younger generations into the realm of writing.
