Bhutanese Blues

Amidst the misty mountains, far away
Lies a tale of struggle, of hope and dismay
Fellow lhotshmpa’s, uprooted from our land
In search of peace, with destiny in our hand

In the Timai refugee camp, where life was tough
Hut number B2 48, where resilience was enough
The oasis academy, a ray of light
In the darkness of uncertainty, a path so bright

Amidst the chaos, we held on to our dreams
Of a life beyond the camp, with greater means
The road was long, the journey was hard
But with each step, we played our part

And then came the resettlement , to a land unknown
A culture shock, that left us alone
But we stood strong, we never gave up
With each passing day, we filled our cup

Friends and family lost to suicide
The pain was real, but we never shied
Away from the struggles, we faced with might
With every challenge, we stood to fight

And now we’re growing back, stronger than before
With our heads held high, we’re ready for more
Our struggle, our story, a reminder to us all
That with hope and hard work, we can never fall.
