Sunflowers

–Bozena Helena Mazur-Nowak/ UK

They were pushing
And they were angry at the sky
They wanted to steal
some praise from the sun
And they ended their paradise life
On a carpet of green grass instead

So now they stood and watched with longing
On the extremely long stalks
As if they wanted to touch the sky once more
And the sun, proudly from above,
Now looked down at them
