The Ultimate Wish

Poet
Poet

Chabilal Thapa

Man is born with numerous wishes,
Mostly to be wise and to own riches;

No wisdom,however,can quench his curiosity
And no wealth on earth can give him prosperity.

The more one gets the more he needs;
Never,therefore,his desire fully feeds.

Who has a cottage longs to have a castle,
Gold,silver,diamond,ruby and pearl.

But,all in vain,the death knocks the doors
Before fulfilling the wishes that one adores.

Face wrinkles,hair whitens and teeth fall;
Those numerous wishes are  given up all.

Now remains the last choice-the ultimate wish
To rest in the abode of heaven in peace.
